About the society.
The Louisiana Bonsai Society was founded on October 15, 1976, and has served bonsai enthusiasts in Baton Rouge and south Louisiana ever since. Its members grow, train and exhibit trees suited to the region's heat and humidity. The society holds monthly meetings, offers workshops through the year and presents members' work at public exhibitions. It is a member club of the Lone Star Bonsai Federation.
The purposes of LBS are to provide education through active participation in club events, to advance knowledge and appreciation of bonsai within the community and to communicate with and support other bonsai organizations.
The society meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Visitors and beginners are welcome.
